		<description>As far as close plays at first usually ending up as outs, something I was taught when I started umpiring Little League games many years ago (which only last 6 innings) is my supervisor making an out motion and saying &quot;Just remember, 18 of these and we go home.&quot;</description>

		<description>As a corollary to this, I often notice that sometimes a catcher is set-up waaaay outside, and the pitcher misses the spot, by throwing down-the-middle or on the inside corner (but clearly over the plate), and it&#039;s often called a ball, because the catcher had to reach for it.</description>
